What is Worlds of History?
The people and events of the past have left their mark on our world today and through history education we can learn from these moments to better understand today’s rapidly changing world. The culture and religions of the ancient world gave rise to the infrastructures of our very own societies. This course will focus on events the helped shape modern civilization, culture and religions that span our vast world.
Breaking down this complicated material is essential to the understanding of the complex nature that culture and religion has played in shaping our world’s history. This course will be broken down into six different sections that will investigate early civilizations of the ancient world, how they helped shape today's societies and the legacy’s they left behind.
The culture and religion aspect of world history will draw heavily on a variety of Primary Sources and Document Based Questions that will be used to build a foundation of understanding needed to properly explore the culture and religion of the ancient world. Students will be able to see just how the past directly relates to our own future and gain a wealth of essential educational skills such as critical thinking, analysis, evaluation, reading, writing and organization that are crucial to any major area of study at Kean University.

This site as a resource
You will find all of the material that we go over in class posted on this site. I will post all lectures in a PDF format so everyone can use them.
Clicking on the PDF files will open them in a separate tab on your web browser and clicking on the DOCX file will download the worksheet to your computer, most likely into your downloads folder. All work is numbered according to the way it was presented in class. Files are either in a PDF format or Word Document, which can be edited by any student. The PDF copies of the power points we use in class do have a warning slide attached to them for anyone that is trying to copy, and steal my personal work.
