Current Events:
Each week students will find a way to Claim Test a story, event, article or pretty much anything about a particular topic that is relevant in the the world, using any means of media they see fit. Students must include a copy of their story, article or event in their assignments. This may require you to dive into the deepest depths of the internet to find the truth.
Claim Testing equips students with the language and practice needed to analyze claims made in many forms, including primary and secondary sources, data charts, videos, info-graphics, and even in-class discussions. We will be Claim Testing everything throughout the year...everything!
Claim Testing is broken down into four parts:

- Intuition - Does this make sense? What is your gut feeling?
- Logic - Is the reasoning behind what you are claim testing systematic?
- Authority - Is the source credible?
- Evidence - Is the evidence verifiable?
