So you all learned about Ancient China last year, in particular the Great Wall of China. We will revisit the Serpents Spine during our look at Asia in the Middle Ages, however when looking back at last year the Great Wall of China most likely had a huge impact on your lessons. The Great wall is a stunning World Heritage Site that is protected by world laws governing how it is taken care of.
Well it looks like some repairs on the wall went south and are being deemed "Ugly Repairs". its actually really sad to see such an important monument to human history falling apart and not being properly cared for. Its amazing that they survived and are in amazing condition...just look at the detail and color on these mosaics. Julius Caesar took the advice of the astronomer Sosigenes of Alexandria, who knew from Egyptian calander that the year was about 365.25 days in length.
